In addition to providing community and commercial space, Orinoka Civic House will rent 51 one and two bedroom apartments as sustainable, affordable housing.

Orinoka Civic House is located at 2771-2777 Ruth Street, Philadelphia, a block from the Somerset stop on the Market-Frankford El and easily accessible to three SEPTA bus lines.

Amenities will include individually controlled heat and air conditioning, Energy Star appliances, laundry facilities and abundant natural light, as well as supportive services provided by NKCDC. Community space will be available to residents and the public.

30 one-bedroom units (averaging 718 square feet) and 21 two-bedroom units (averaging 949 square feet) are available by application. Unit prices will be adjusted for household income. Six units, at different income levels, will be handicap accessible. As of 2016, the upper income limit for a family of four is $48,180.


Applications submitted by February 24, 2017 were placed in a lottery to set the order in which applicants are called for interviews. Interviews began March 13. Applications submitted after February 24 are being placed on a waiting list. To apply:
